The KL1v counts up to 15 tablets or capsules per second, giving technicians time back for higher-value work. It counts almost any tablet or capsule without calibration, needs no interfacing or IT setup, and its compact footprint fits easily on the pharmacy counter without adding clutter.
"Pharmacy teams have enough on their plate. Buying a counter should be as simple as using one," said Huan K. Nguyen, R.Ph., vice president of pharmacy automation at Capsa Healthcare. "With the KL1v on Capsa Connect, a pharmacy can go from checkout to counting without a sales cycle in between. The code makes this the right time to add one to the fill station."
The KL1v includes:
- Inventory mode for physical inventory and full stock bottle counts
- Special mode for odd-shaped pills and gel caps
- A vial size indicator that recommends a vial size in drams based on what was poured
- The premium Quiet Count tray and funnel with integrated sound dampening
- An all-new graphic user interface with adjustable volume and sounds
Kirby Lester pill counters have set the standard for pharmacy automation in North America for the past 55 years. The KL1v, introduced in January 2025, is the next generation of the Kirby Lester KL1. Beyond retail, pharmacies use it for hospital outpatient, long-term care, specialty, veterinary and central fill counting, as well as daily inventory counts and checks of automated dispensing cassettes and canisters.
